Staying creative is one of the healthiest things a CEO or business owner can do for their business. It is very easy to get bogged down in the day to day demands of running a company. Over time this can lead even the most creative leaders into a rut.
That is why it is important to set aside time every day to let your mind wander free. Fortunately, you do not have to go it alone. There are a variety of apps to help you with that! Here are a few we recommend.
Headspace
Headspace is a guided meditation app for your iPhone or iPad. It is a great assistant for spending some time during the day in mediation.
Headspace’s features include access to their Take 10 mediation package. This is 10 unique daily guided medications. In addition to those 10, there are also free specialized meditations that focus on topics like Sleep, Stress, Walking, Public Transportation, and Mindfulness.
Other features include the ability to download your meditations for offline use, a daily reminder so that you do not forget to set aside your meditation time, and a timer.
Breath2Relax
Sometimes the best way to handle the stress onthe job is just to take a step back and take a deep breath. That is exactly what Breath2Relax is designed to help you do.
This app is designed to use science to help you breathe and manage your stress. There are techniques on how to control your anger, stabilize your moods and just be able to relax and distress.
Best of all Breath2Relax is free to download!
iBrainstorm
When sitting down and letting your brain do its thing it can sometimes help to have a way to capture what is going on. That is what iBrainstorm is designed to do. This application, for the iPad and iPhone, is a way to record and collaborate during brainstorming sessions.
You can record your sessions with virtual sticky notes and hand drawings. These can then be shared with other users of your iBrainstorm session by flicking them to another user.
This is a great application for capturing those brain droppings that can sometimes lead to innovation.
Blackbar
Ever seen those redacted government documents on the news or in an article? There are black bars all through the text covering up what you should not see. What if you turned that censorship into a game to get your creative juices flowing? That is exactly what Blackbar does.
You are shown a block of words that have several of them blacked out. To move onto the next puzzle, you must correctly guess what all the words are. Once you get them all, it is on to the next puzzle and the next set of blanked out words.
